The team at Community Law Service (CLS) have again successfully achieved re-accreditation of their specialist quality mark from the Law Society: LEXCEL. This is an accreditation that demonstrating high standards of client care, robust internal processes and excellent practice management.
Although not new to holding a specialist quality mark, Community Law Service undergo an important annual audit of the Charity’s internal processes, including not only case management but also how the staff team are supported and the wider organisational processes.
Sarah Hayle, CEO said “we are required to hold a specialist quality mark for the purposes of our Legal Aid work, but this is about more than that. Community Law Service is an exemplar of social welfare law advice provision, we want our local community to have confidence that they will receive a high-quality service from our team, and to engage with advice when they need it, not wait for things to spiral. Holding a specialist advice quality mark gives that public awareness that we are independently audited and they can have confidence in our team. Our auditor is also great at providing helpful suggestions for development, which helps us to continually improve.”
This year’s audit identified 10 new areas of good practice by Community Law Service, including strong collaborations amongst advice teams to best resolve client matters, and providing a “positive workplace culture”.
Congratulations to all of the Community Law Service team, this accreditation is recognition of a whole team effort.
