Welfare Benefits Adviser
Salary: circa £27,294 per annum dependent on experience
35 hours a week (Monday to Friday)
Thanks to securing new funding, Community Law Service is seeking to recruit a Welfare Benefits caseworker to provide advice, casework, and representation to clients who are wishing to dispute or appeal a benefit decisions.
This is a varied and interesting role which will work within our friendly, expert Welfare Benefits and Fuel Poverty team.
It is anticipated this post will commence in early January 2025.

The post will include some travel to outreach venues. Own transport required.

Community Law Service (Northampton and County) is a registered charity and an independent provider of specialist social welfare advice. Our aim is to improve the health and wellbeing of local residents through the provision of specialist advice in the areas of Welfare Benefits, Debt, Housing, Energy Advice, and Immigration.
In the current economic climate organisations like Community Law Service play a vital role in providing advice and support to clients in debt crisis or in danger of losing their home. These are two of the major areas of activity for our staff.
As the board of directors of the company and trustees of the charity, we are now actively seeking new board members to increase our skill base and support the charity. In particular we are looking for candidates with a background in finance or fundraising who can bring their skills and expertise to the organisation supporting a substantial budget from a number of different funders.
Board meetings are held each month, either online or at our main office in Hazelwood Road, Northampton, at present on a Tuesday. The Board is responsible for setting the strategy and policies of the organisation and guides and supports the Chief Executive and her staff.
